Oblong, football-shaped Treviso type with striking dark red oval leaves and thick white ribs. TVG1 thrives in both early spring and summer plantings for reliable fall harvests, with excellent bolt tolerance. Produces 18-22cm (7-8.5") heads weighing around 400g (14oz). The gorgeous deep color rivals Perseo Chioggia, but with a milder, more approachable flavor. Adds wonderful crunch, vibrant color, and appealing bitterness to saladsāpair with balsamic vinegar or citrus for balance. Also grills beautifully for a warm side dish. Open-pollinated. Approximately 775 seeds per packet.
