A serviceable ground cover rather than accent plant in the garden. Also known as Missouri Evening Primrose. Produces very showy, 7.5 cm wide, poppy-like, bright lemon yellow flowers on compact plants. Grows 15-30 cm in height. Plants are quite showy once established and will thrive in sunny hot areas with soil that is less than ideal. Establishment and persistence is enhanced in dry, well drained soils. One of my favourite perennial plants! Hardy to Zone 4.
