Iceland Poppies are hardy, short-lived perennials that self-sow readily, returning year after year. Large, crepe-textured cup-shaped blooms appear in soft pastels—apricot, gold, tangerine, and white. Growing to around 30cm (12") tall, these flowers are among the longest-lasting poppies for cutting. They attract honeybees and bumblebees while staying put where planted, unlike California Poppies. Sow seeds in early spring or late fall where you want them to grow permanently. Note: all plant parts are mildly toxic but acrid enough that animals will not eat them.
